Had an OK experience at Blade & Timber. The online reservation was a bit annoying to deal with.
Prices were a bit deceiving $124 for a lane (but it is only for 4 people), if you add more (up to 6) it is $31/head. You get a 1.5 hour block.
Staff was a bit awkward. Most of the group was not familiar with axe throwing...they spent quite a bit of time "instructing" and then just let us go at it. It was even more awkward at the end when the instructor decided to spend 10 min of his time to show "trick shots" when no one really asked and we were all just awkwardly standing there while he threw and waited for him to finish.
It's cool that they serve beer, but it definitely is a bit over priced. I was assuming drafts were available, but just having cans for $6-7 is on the pricier end.
To top off the awkwardness, when I went to pay for the group, I already had a coupon applied via email, but the instructor said he took a discount off the top for us (receipt said birthday discount), when I already applied it on my res online. He thought he was doing us a favor, when I already had the discount online...
Majority of the group had a good time (barring the odd instructor pauses), which is why it is saving it from a 1-2 star review, but from what I was expecting...definitely not as good of a time as I thought.
Good spot to hang out, but its definitely on the pricier end. Weird to have a line asking for tip, since if anything, the instructor just ate into our time to throw axes. Still, was feeling nice, and tipped normally.
Street parking only.
I couldn’t have picked a better experience for my son’s 18th birthday. The staff were AMAZING in every way!!!
Our party of 4 was treated so well and the instruction was fantastic. The staff checked on us without being intrusive and offered helpful hints along the way. A big plus for the encouragement given to my younger daughter. Really made her fell at ease. We were treated to some “trick shot” instruction as well. A fine job done by all of the staff!!
We had a great time here
Staff was really friendly and helpful.
Throwing area and equipment is nicely maintained
Sooo much fun learning how to throw hatchets ~ and no one died! 😆
Our instructor was great, giving some great tips on how to avoid bad or incorrect throwing.
Parking is a real challenge on Capital Hill, as most understand.
Such a great experience! We were able to walk and in they just happened to be able to get us in - we didn’t know you’re suppose to have reservations. We had a coach who taught us everything we needed to know about safety and how to throw. When it was time to actually through I felt so comfortable since she had gone over everything. They have a book of games you can play and the time FLEW. I can’t rave enough good things about this place!
My recent experience at Timber and Blade Axe Throwing in Seattle left me with mixed feelings. While it was a unique and somewhat fun activity, there were some aspects that prevented it from being a stellar experience.
On the positive side, the staff at Timber and Blade were friendly and provided clear instructions on how to safely throw an axe. It was a new and interesting activity to try with friends, and we had a few moments of excitement when we managed to hit the target.
However, the facility felt a bit basic and could use some improvements. The lanes were a bit cramped, and the equipment, while functional, seemed a bit worn. It didn't have the polished feel I was expecting.
Additionally, the pricing was a bit on the higher side for the amount of time we spent there. While it was a novel experience, I couldn't help but feel that we didn't get the best value for our money.
In conclusion, Timber and Blade Axe Throwing offers a unique activity for groups looking to try something different. The staff is friendly, and it can be a fun way to spend some time with friends. However, there's room for improvement in terms of the facility's ambiance and pricing to make it a more compelling experience.
Blade and timber axe throwing was a blast! I had so much fun throwing axes at the targets and competing with my friends. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the safety instructions were clear and easy to follow. The venue was spacious and clean. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and release some stress. I would definitely go back and try it again!
If I could suggest anything it would be to have better snacks. The beverage front is pretty good although a few more choices of non-alcoholic beverages would be good as well like kombuchas and sparkling drinks that are not pop. Love the options for alcoholic beverages.
